Pharmaceutical Fronts is a peer-reviewed international journal based on an Open Access model. It publishes original manuscripts reporting on the latest breakthroughs in pharmaceutical development across all relevant scientific and engineering disciplines. It is affiliated to the Chinese Journal of Pharmaceuticals (EI Compendex), which was founded in 1970, sponsored by the Shanghai Institute of Pharmaceutical Industry, Chinese Pharmaceutical Association and China Pharmaceutical Industry Association, and now tops the list of all Chinese periodicals in pharmaceutical sciences.

The journal is associated with the China State Institute of Pharmaceutical Industry (CSIPI) and the China National Pharmaceutical Industry Information Center (PHIIC). CSIPI is a subsidiary of China National Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. (Sinopharm), a large healthcare group directly under the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission (SASAC) of the State Council; and takes a leading position in pharmaceutical research in China. PHIIC was established in 1958 and has served state-owned and private companies with its leading research and development capabilities. PHIIC also provides a unique platform to experts for academic exchange in the related fields.

The journal is dedicated to delivering the readers with experience in innovative manuscript acquisition and review process focusing on information novelty, reliability, and applicability. The journal highlights “Pharmaceutical Processes” that promote safe, environmentally friendly, and economical manufacturing in the pharmaceutical industry. It also reports cutting edge scientific developments relevant to the industrial applications. The journal covers a broad range of original reports in medicinal chemistry, process development, and technological innovations for both experimental and production settings. It provides an advanced forum to the global scientific and industrial community in the quest for better medicines and better approaches to preparing such medicines for diseases at industrial scales.
